Our Kilimanjaro Guides
My name is Godlisten Moshi a native of Mount Kilimanjaro in Marangu village where the headquarter of Kilimanjaro National park Authority is located.
I was born in 1983, I finished my secondary education in 2002 in Marangu.
I have been involved with Kilimanjaro since my early days in secondary school.
During holiday season I used to Climbing as a porter and an assistant to my brother who has been working in Kilimanjaro since the late eighties.
I did learn a lot from him and he was my inspiration to join industry. After I finish my secondary education I took climbing seriously and join Tour guiding college in Arusha. I studied for 18 months and attain a certificate in Tour guiding and Leadership. I did also attend a short course organized by Kilimanjaro National Park (KINAPA) and was awarded a Mountain guide License to guide all routes in Kilimanjaro.
In my early years it was tough to get used to Kilimanjaro but the reward of reaching the peak was immeasurable and I never got enough of it. It became an addiction and has been very busy since then.
I have climbed to the Uhuru peak for about 107 times, I did summit as a porter, assistant guide and as guide.
I did receive training in First Aid and Emergency care and competent in my job, I know different ways of handling tough situations and can work in different conditions.
I feel like Mt. Guide is my life as it has been in my family for a while now and hoping to pass over all I know and experienced to all privileged to join the journey to Kilimanjaro, The Roof of Africa.
